The theme of the Assembly “See I am doing a new deed, even now it comes to light; can you not see?” from Isaiah 43:19, captures the spirit of trust that as a Delegation we place in Jesus Good Shepherd who is always leading us to new springs of life, and it highlights the spirit of discernment that we wish to exercise in order to walk in his ways.

In the opening prayer, Sr. Rita Ruzzene, invited each one of us to take some seeds and plant them in a pot of soil to exemplify the mystery of life hidden in a seed. Planted and nurtured, the seed must die and be transformed in order to bear fruit.

During the Assembly we reviewed the year 2006 in the light of the Delegation Sexennial Plan and subsequently planned for the new year 2007.

One of the main objectives of the Assembly was to study and deepen the document “To Become Poor in order to Evangelize”.  As a result of our shared reflection, our spirituality programme for 2007 will include initiatives that will help us, at different levels, to put into practice some of the recommendations found in the document.

The Assembly was also a very good time for us to share experiences from our different places of ministry, for community prayer, and times of relaxation together.
