A Day to Remember

May 15, 2007 was indeed a day to look back on with a smile on our lips and thanks in our hearts for the marvels the Lord has done for us for the past 42 grace-filled years of presence of the Pastorelle Sisters in the Philippines.

The celebration started early in the morning with the common Eucharistic Adoration in the Provincial House in which Sr. Ignacia Coching made her first renewal of vows in the presence of Sr. Ma. Rita Siochi and some of the communities gathered.

It was also participated by some of the family members of our Novices to start the day of Recollection given to the Parents and immediate families of our 3 Novices: Revelyn Blanca, Rodelia Bordan and Jenine Malibiran.

The meaningful group sharing among the 3 families highlighted the occasion where the Novices and their Parents for the first time had the opportunity to express the joys and pains that accompany the “choice” their daughters have opted in favor of the Religious Consecration.  Through the brief talks on  the life of the Pastorelle Sisters, the families were also made to understand better the particular “call” to which their daughters have responded to.

The First Religious Profession  was solemnized within the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Celso Godilano, former Provincial Superior of the Society of St. Paul, together with other concelebrating Priests: Fr. Ruben Areno, Provincial Superior of the Society of St. Paul, Fr. Allan Gamutan, Fr. Leopoldo Botovara and Fr. Rollie Jean  Flores.  Fr. Mariano Agruda III, OCD Provincial Superior, and Fr. Arni Bohne, OCD, Parish Priest of Mt. Carmel Shrine Parish  were also among the concelebrants.

Aside from the Society of St. Paul, among those who graced the occasion were also other members of the Pauline Family: FSP, PDDM, IOLA and other Religious Sisters in our neighborhood.

“We will sing forever of your love, O Lord,

For you are our refuge and our strength,

You fill us with your life-giving spirit,

Your word of mercy and of peace.”
