APC--PASTORELLE CELEBRATES FOUNDER’S DAY

Last November 25, 2006, on the second initial formation meeting of the APC-Pastorelle, it was decided that the Pastorelle Provincialate  hosts an anticipated celebration of the Founder’s Day so that it could be an occasion for the Sisters to meet and get acquainted with the APC Formands.

As usual the formational lecture was held at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with a short break and resumed until Mass was ready at 11:00 a.m.  The topic of the day was “Fr. Alberione, the Making of a Founder”.  The 22 participants present composed mostly of leading lay ministers in 4 parishes, were elated that in the Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Rey Edward Reyes, SSP, the impassioned homily on Fr. Alberione supplemented perfectly what they had in the lecture.

To complete the festive occasion, a laden table was offered after the Mass in the refectory of the Broadway Community.  While the spirit was high the group took the opportunity to have a brief business meeting after lunch to discuss the APC Initial Formation Itinerary as follows:

The dynamism of the Group seems to lie in the fact that  they  have  begun  the  APC  way

back in 1984 from a Group of  laymen and 2 lay women as a Team giving Bible Seminars:  Basic Bible, Christology and Mariology in Sto Niño,Tondo, Manila Parish since 1979.  After Sr. Catherine Cleofe, SJBP,  left the Parish of Tondo in 1980, the Group helped her in the Seafarer’s Formation until 1985 as aspiring APC members. Again left on their own, they continued until at present in Caloocan City.  Given the grace to respond to their calling, that Group alone promises the organization of active APC members in 4 parishes in the Archdiocese of Manila and the Diocese of Caloocan.

Sr. Catherine is presently assisted in the formation of the APC-Pastorelle by Sr. Jesusa Villaverde, SJBP, who takes charge of the orientation of the new aspirants.

Let us thank the Lord and Fr. Founder for these zealous lay leaders.  Let us continue to pray for them that they may remain united in their humble and loving service to the Local Church, so that whatever Jesus Good Shepherd has begun in them with his inspiration, may continue with his saving help and be brought to completion.
