Philippine-Australia-Saipan Province

70th Anniversary Celebration

The Pastorelle Sisters of the Philippine-Australia-Saipan Province celebrated with our families the 70th founding anniversary of our Congregation last October 5, 2008 at Jesus Good Shepherd School, Palico, Imus, Cavite.

Around 600 members of our families attended the Eucharistic Celebration which was presided over by Fr. Nestor Gungon, the brother of Sr. Vigie Gungon. In his homily Fr. Nestie thanked all the parents who have offered their daughters to the congregation whom he sees to be happy and contented in their life of following Jesus Good Shepherd. He reminded us that to keep our life holy two things are important: clarity of conscience and lightness of heart.

The Mass was followed by a sumptuous meal brought by our families. The communion at the mass was continued at the table where laughter, joys, news were shared together with the delicious food the afternoon was a real feat for all.

A short program in the afternoon entertained our families. In her opening remarks Sr. Ma. Rita Siochi introduced the theme of our celebration: Pamilya: Punlaan ng Bokasyon at Kabanalan.

She said that during this year every Pastorella in the 17 countries has committed herself to live a more intense holy life expressed in her ministry of pastoral care. She asked for prayers from our families so that we may continue to give testimony to our life of consecration at the service of holiness of the people entrusted to our care. Special gifts were also given to the guests who turned and will turn 70 years old this year.

Our guests-families exclaimed, it is wonderful to celebrate with you your special day. We feel to be part also of the congregation. Thanks be to God for allowing us to witness this special event.
