At prayer with young people

On the last Saturday of every month, young people are invited to join Sr Ignacia, Sr Nelia, and Sr Mary for Lectio Divina in the chapel at Bundoora, Australia. On average, four to six young people attend. They are mainly secondary and university students who have an eager desire to deepen their faith and personal relationship with the Lord.

These are young people who take to heart the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI “to build your life on Christ, to accept the word with joy and put its teachings into practice” and, “respond to the urgent need for the emergence of a new generation of apostles anchored firmly in the word of Christ, capable of responding to the challenges of our times and prepared to spread the Gospel far and wide.”

Each encounter is an experience of grace and today the experience of grace was particularly significant as tomorrow the Church in Australia marks the opening of the Year of Grace during which all the faithful are encouraged primarily to “contemplate the face of Jesus ever more deeply and to listen to his voice with humble obedience and faith.”
