Youth Celebrating Easter

The words of Pope Benedict XVI “If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great... Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ and you will find true life”  have found a home in the hearts of the young people of St. Luke’s parish, Lalor.

The children who attend the parish based Religious Education program led the Palm Sunday procession and the Youth group walked the Stations of the Cross through the Streets of the parish with deep respect and devotion.

Sr. Nelia Llanto is the Religious Coordinator in the parish, and her ministry to young people though challenging in many ways is bearing fruit, and a joy for the whole parish community. It will be this parish Youth group that will animate the liturgy on the 3rd May, the 46th World Day of prayer for Vocations and feast of Jesus Good Shepherd.

The washing of the feet of twelve parishioners on Holy Thursday was a moving reminder to all, young and young at heart, of the unconditional love God has shown for us in Jesus, and our vocation to be messengers of this love wherever we are.

The whole parish community rejoiced also in the Baptism of two new members the Christian community.

The Light of Christ in our life

In the neighbouring parish of St. Joseph the Worker where Sr. Doreen Bentley exercises her ministry of pastoral care, “the light of Christ”,  is very much the Easter gift that the community celebrated and together is committed to spreading to all corners of family and community life.
