Solidarity among Religious Sisters

Last July 2010, Sr. Anna and Sr. Mary were honoured to represent the Pastorelle Sisters at a thanksgiving Mass for the Family Care Sisters 80 years of Ministry to Families. The celebration was held at the Sacred Heart Church, Croydon, with the small group of Sisters surrounded by relatives, friends and members of other Religious Congregations, and it highlighted how the Family Care Sisters have made a difference to the life of so many people, especially mothers and children over their 80 years of ministry in Victoria.

We are happy to acknowledge that the Family Care Sisters have also made a difference to the mission of the Pastorelle in Gabon.  In October 2006, at the launching of the book that told the story of the 50 years of Presence of the Pastorelle Sisters in Australia, it was announced that all proceeds, in the form of donations, would go to support the work of our Sisters in Gabon, especially with needy families and children.

The Family Care Sisters took the invitation to heart and made a generous offering that would allow our Sisters to meet some of the more pressing needs of families and children entrusted to their care.

We are indebted to them for their solidarity and continue to be united in our efforts to serve families and children. And so, “seeing your good works, they may give the praise to your Father in heaven” (Mtt. 5:16).
