Celebrating our patron saints Peter and Paul as a Pauline Family

The celebration of the feast of our patron saints, Peter and Paul on 4 July 2010, was an opportunity for the Pauline Family in Melbourne to come together and spend some time in prayer and afterwards, a time of sharing and relaxation over a lovely afternoon tea at the Daughters of St. Paul in East Hawthorn.

In Melbourne, the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master have two communities, as also the Pastorelle Sisters, while the Daughters of St Paul have one community and they run the beautiful Pauline Books and Media shop in Hawthorn. Not all Sisters could be present due to other commitments but all communities were represented.

In the course of the Eucharistic Hour prepared by the Daughters, we read a passage from the writings of our Founder Blessed James Alberione called I am a miracle of God.  United with all the Pauline Family around the world, we prayed that we, too,  may recognise our being  “a miracle of God” , and  that following the example of Peter and Paul, we allow Christ to live in us.

“I am a miracle of God!
Your call of the Twelve transformed them;
your call to me has made me a new person.
I am immersed in Christ:
his interests are my interests; his doctrine, my doctrine.
My life is that of Christ.
 I carry out his works, or better, he carries them out in me.”
                                                                                (Alberione, Paolo Apostolo, 18)

The next gathering as a Pauline Family will be at the end of October at the Sister Disciples in Camberwell to mark the solemnity of Jesus Divine Master.
