Last December 13, 2008 the Annual Seafarers advent recollection organized by the Apostleship of the Sea – Manila (AOS-Manila) was held at the Audio Visual room of San Sebastian College, at Quiapo, Manila.

The couple Rollie and Josie de Mesa from the Christian Family Movement (CFM) was invited to give a talk – reflection on the family issues. Sr. Aida and Sr. Marivic both Pastorelle were in charge of guiding the seafarers for the whole day of prayers and reflections.

This religious activity was intended for those who were coming from provinces and were waiting for possible employment on board the ship. There were 42 seafarers who came to participate the said activity.

Fr. Rene Paglinawan a former superior of the Order of Augustinian Recollects administered the sacrament of Reconciliation and presided the thanksgiving Mass, the final activity. In his homily he emphasized on the beauty, meaning and importance of the sacraments in our Christian Life. And in a profound way shared his reflections on the mystery of Incarnation.

The main Objective of the Recollection is to help and accompany the applicant seafarers in their spiritual preparation to celebrate Christmas away from home.

Everything that begins well; ends well.
