March 27, 2009 at 5:00 pm was set for the inaugural blessing of the NEW Apostleship of the Sea Office and Stella Maris Dormitory located at Pius XII Catholic Center 1175 United Nations Avenue cor. Correa St. Paco, Manila.

His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, DD Cardinal Archbishop of Manila who offered a place to the Apostleship of the Sea – Manila a building which was abandoned and not use for more than three years. The renovation work was made possible thru the generous help from the maritime organizations, family and friends as well of Fr. Savino.

His Eminence Cardinal Rosales and Most Reverend Broderick Pabillo, DD Auxiliary Bishop of Manila came to bless the new office and dormitory. The office is spacious and a big room is available for meetings, conferences and counseling. The dormitory can accommodate sixty four (64) seafarers and three rooms reserved for transient couples.

In his message the Cardinal expressed his gratitude and admiration to the Apostleship of the Sea- Manila for the care and concern for the seafarers.

Indeed, it was a celebration of thanksgiving to the Lord for providing this place to be a “home” for seafarers when they are away from their home. The Lord is good and we marvel for the beautiful things He continuously inspire us to do.
