Philippine-Australia–Saipan Province “Small is Beautiful” – an InterCongregational Gathering |
“Small is Beautiful” is the gathering of Sisters who belong to small Religious Congregations in the archdiocese of Melbourne and beyond. The gatherings aim at promoting mutual support and opportunities for prayer and social activities. |
A Committee of five sisters, belonging to five different Congregations, meets regularly to organise and promote four annual events which usually include a reflection day and an outing. Sr Mary has been on the Committee since the beginning of this year following in Sr Rita’s footsteps who was among the pioneer group. |
This year’s program included a visit to Tarrawarra Abbey at Yarra Glen on 16 May 2009. Twenty five Sisters from various small Religious Congregations attended and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Our Sr Anna was there and so was Sr Margaret Dwyer, RSC who is Vicar for Religious in the archdiocese of Melbourne. |

Breathing in the beauty of the Valley and experiencing the warm hospitality of the Tarrawarra community made it a perfect day for everyone! |
The next Small is Beautiful gathering will be on 5 September, “A Story Day” facilitated by Sr Christa Ssps who is on the Committee.
