The Pastorelle Sisters have been working in St. Luke’s parish, Lalor, along side the Scalabrinian Fathers and lay leaders since the mid seventies.
Sr. Nelia Llanto is well known to the young people and children of the parish. She coordinates the sacramental program of Catholic children who attend Government schools with the help of a group of dedicated Catechists and Parents. |

She is also engaged in youth ministry and in recent weeks they have been working very hard to raise money for them to attend World Youth Day ’08 in Sydney. |

The youth group has been very involved in the celebration of the Good Friday ceremonies leading the Way of the Cross through the streets of the parish. |

The whole parish community rejoiced at Easter as it witnessed the reception of a young woman into the Church. Sr. Nelia is part of the R.C.I.A. Team (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) that accompanies people interested in becoming Catholics, or Catholics who have been away from the Church and wish to return to it. |
Two of the members of the Team, Val Malavisi and Jan Seville, are Pauline Cooperators and they are exemplary in their commitment to the faith and to the building up of the Christian community. |
