Working for vocations…

“The harvest indeed is great but the laborers are few.”

So pray to the Lord of the harvest that he may send good laborers to our Church.

(Cf. Lk 10,2)

Our zonal vocation promotion with a simple vocation exhibit was held last October 18-19, 2008 at St. Michael, the Archangel Parish, in Bacoor, Cavite. This event was made possible through the joined effort of the Sisters of Jesus Good Shepherd “Pastorelle”, lay vocation promoters and some members of the Pauline Family and religious congregation in the Diocese of Imus.

The welcoming attitude and support of the priests of that parish together with the community lightened our difficult situation under the heat of the sun. It is truly inspiring for us religious to see these lay vocation promoters together with their families helping us in various ways. The sacrifice they are offering for the increase of vocations in the Church is admirable! We can only marvel at these wonderful things God has done for us. His loving presence is very much visible throughout these days of activities. He provided everything we needed through these people.

The fruit of our labor may not be seen at present but we believe that our dream of having more vocations in the Church will become a reality in God’s time. Notwithstanding the hardship and shortcoming, we have no doubt in proclaiming that the Lord is so good, all the time!
